INTRODUCTION: Dr. Steven Soong is a Board Certified Optometrist, trained to treat various eye conditions and diseases, including infections, inflammation, allergies, and glaucoma. “Practicing optometry is much more than 1 or 2. Getting to know my patients and learning what is important to them are the most rewarding aspects of my job. I strive to earn my patients’ loyalty by focusing on each individual’s unique vision needs.”
ACADEMICS: Dr. Steven Soong attended and graduated from Temple City High School. From there, he earned his B.S degree in Biological Sciences at UC Irivine (Zot Zot Zot!). He finished his education by graduating from Southern California College of Optometry (Marshall B. Ketchum University) for his doctorate of optometry degree.
CLINICAL TRAINING IN OPTOMETRY: Internships took Dr. Soong to the VA Hospital of Tucson (Arizona), and Acoma-Canoncito-Laguna Indian Health Service Hospital (New Mexico) where he gained valuable clinic experience in managing glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and cataract patients. While in optometry school, Dr. Soong’s research paper “Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency associated with Long-Term Soft Contact Lens Wear leading to Epitheliopathy: A Case Study,” won the Larkin Case Report scholarship in 2013.

MORE: Dr. Soong is an active member of the American Optometry Association and the California Optometric Association. He is also an active board member of the San Gabriel Valley Optometric Society. As a Chino Hills resident, he enjoys playing basketball and loves to go on a good hike with his mom.
