If the answer is yes, you are not alone. Many of my patients’ dislike the air puff test just like you. After much debate and research, Bright Vision Optometry will offer something different and new to measure your eye pressures. The inconvenient air puff method is not longer needed.
Let’s introduce the icare tonometer:
This new instrument uses an unique, rebound patented technology, in which a very light, small probe is used to make a momentary contact with the front of the eye. The measurement is quick, painless and barely noticed by the patients. Most importantly, many credible publications have reinforced the accuracy of the icare tonometer. Personally, I used this instrument at the California CareForce Coachella Valley health clinic this year. From 3 year old kids to 80 year olds, everyone was very receptive of the icare tonometer.
