Here are some take-home messages from the 2016 Golden Globes:

1. Glasses are important, just ask Denzel. 

Fumbling to read his “thank you” notes, Pauletta Washington (Denzel’s wife), kindly reminded Denzel that he needed his glasses. Alonzo Harris replied, “Glasses ain’t got NOTHING on me!” Just kidding, but Denzel does admit, “Yeah, I do need my glasses.” Classic example of how valuable a pair of prescription glasses can be. 

2. Glasses can be a fashion statement. 

Unlike most Globe winners, Maura Tierney accepted her Best Supporting Actress award wearing glasses. Mackenzie Wagoner of Vogue said it best, “With the addition of the simple accessory, The Affair actress’ clean skin, nude lipstick, and swirl of peach blush assumed a smartly confident edge—and isn’t that what an award-winning star should look like?”
